Dewa Athena 2017

Last Saturday, 25 March 2017 my school held a Dewa Athena. Dewa Athena is a sport competitions. The event took place in Lapangan Bali. The sports include:
1. Volleyball,
2. Football,
3. Dodge ball,
4. Marathon,
5. “Tarik tambang”, and
6. “Gobak sodor”.

For the first competition, my class – X Science 3 participated in “gobak sodor” competition. I played in this game too. Gobak sodor is a play consists of two teams. The rules is to intercept the opponent can not escape to the last line in a back and forth. To determine who is the champion of all team members must complete the process of back and forth in a predetermined area of the field. We were very competitive, but sadly we lost to X Science 10. At the same time, we were participated in Girls Badminton and unfortunately we lost.

The next competition was Basketball. We got chance play against X Science 5. The boys played very competitive and the girls always cheered up the players. But we lost again.

After our class played basketball, we participated in marathon. Our players were so fast. They surpassed the opposing team. But in the end, we lost to them.

The next competition was girls football. I was participated in this game. I thought this was the most fun and exiting game. Actually we played it disorderly. We didn’t even run for the ball. But this time we were lucky. We scored a goal. Two times. we win against X Science 9 and our class scream for victory. We were so proud.

Our sixth competition was girls dodgeball. Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves. I participated again this time. We play against X Science 6. I admit we played it badly. We didn’t make a good tactics, so we lost against them.

Then our class participated in volleyball. The players include three girls and three boys. We played it messily but we won against X Science 6. We were so happy.

The next competition was boys dodgeball. The boys played against X Science 9. For the first round we actually won. But at the second round we lost to them.

Our last competition for this day was girls football, since we won it. On the first round we were won against X Science 4, but we lost at the second rounds. We were so sad we couldn’t make it further. But at least we were so happy. We enjoyed our day even though we only won one game.

Learning From Nature

We live on a planet Earth which has a nice and beautiful natural environment. The Earth is the only planet man can ever call home. People may think nature is just the oceans and the forests, but nature can refer to the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations. Nature can also refer to geology and wildlife. Every form of nature is very powerful.

Our nature provides us beautifully environment to live and enjoy. The nature has everything for us. It is our responsibility to keep it clean and away from all the damages. There are a lot of selfish people who destroys our nature for their economy and other things. Pollution from factories and a motorized vehicle can also damage our nature. People create systems and machines from it and never worry about their needs in the environment. If we destroy our nature it means we destroy our home and other’s home.

As a student, we can protect out nature with an easy action like not to littering everywhere and cut off electricity. We should turn off the lights if we do not use it anymore. Stop using air conditioner too much, it can help the planet to cut off CFC that caused global warming. We should stop being selfish and start to save the planet.

We should enjoy our natural environment more often. Sometimes during our free time, we spend our day by playing games, watching TV, playing with our handphone and computer and forget about nature. Even though nature has something amazing for us to explore. We can decrease our stress with only enjoying the environment around us. The easiest one is going outside for a walk or hiking. With this, we can appreciate nature more than we used to and can make us healthy.

God has created everything very beautifully seeing which our eyes can never be tired. If we do not protect our environment it will continue to get worse and our children will suffer the consequences. They will never get the clean air and water as we get now. Without the clean air and water, we will not survive. I hope people want to change their habits that can destroy the environment. It is never too late for us to protect our nature and our future.

Thank You Friend

I would like to talk about some interesting experiences. I have a friend named Fathya. She is one of my best friend. She is a year above me. We met when I was in 8th grade. We have same types of music and same hobbies with me.

We usually hang out together. One day, I went to Cihampelas Walk with her. We watched a movie. After that we ate in a café. We spent much time there. We talked about everything.

At 6 PM after hanging around we headed home. The sky was black. She got home by her car and I was picked up by my brother. Her home is in Cimahi, so it took more her time to get home. When I arrived at my house, she called me through her smartphone. She said that I left my wallet on her bag. I remembered that I put my wallet in her bag. I was panic at the time. There were so many important things in my wallet except my money, my ID card, and my ATM card. I told her to kept my wallet and I will take it back when we meet again but she refused it. She said that she will come to my house.

At 9 PM she arrived in my house. She gave me my wallet back. I was so happy. I thanked her so many time. I offered her to stay at my home because it was pretty late, but she chose to go home.

I was grateful that I became a friend with someone as honest as her.I hope our friendship last forever cause  I don’t want to lose her.

My Last Trip

Last holiday I went to Lombok with my family, include my mom, my dad, and my second brother. I went on the third of January 2017. We went by a plane from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Our plane was scheduled to taking off at 10 AM and arrived at 12 PM in Lombok International Airport. My first brother were picked us up at the airport. Actually he lives in Sumbawa. At first my parents wanted to go vacation to Sumbawa, but there wasn’t many tourist attraction and Sumbawa was 8 hours away from Lombok. We were super tired at the time, so we only went to Epicentrum Mall and then we went to the hotel to rest.

On the second day, we went to The Three Gilis. The Three Gilis was an archipelago of three small islands on the northwest coast of Lombok. The first destination was Gili Air. We went by a boat. In there we rented bicycles for us to go around the island. My first brother and I led the way. We passed through the village. There were so many foreigner stayed there. They mostly stayed at the private villa.

We stopped at the seashore to take a rest. We could see the sea clearly. The water was so clear and the air was cool. After thirty minutes of rest, we continued our travel. We went back to the harbor and went forward to the next gili – Gili Meno.

On the way to Gili Meno, the weather was bad. The wind was so strong and drizzle, so we cancelled to go Gili Meno and went forward to Gili Trawangan, the most outstanding gili from the other three. This time my brother took over the steering wheel of the boat. The wave was so big that our boat shaked so hard and made it like an extreme rides. When we arrived in Gili Trawangan, the first thing we did was eat. We ate at the seashore restaurant. After that we prayed in a mosque before we play.

On the afternoon we walked around to find a good spot to snorkeling. We put on the snorkeling stuff. My first brother and I swam until the high seas. The under the sea scenery was beautiful. There was so many colorful fishes and vary of coral. I was surrounded by fishes. Then my brother rented standing paddle board. It was fun to play. After two hours of snorkeling, we went to see the sunset on the seashore. We rented bicycles again and went to the sunset spot. The sunset was beautiful. The sky was orange. The sun was so round and the sea reflected the sun’s light. After that we went back to the hotel and took a rest.

On the third day we went to Sasak Village. The village was so traditional. After that we went to Kuta Beach. In there we only took pictures and enjoyed the scenery. We bought coconuts and drank it. Then we went to Bukit Meresek. There was windy. We could see the sea from the top. The sea was clear. We didn’t forget to took pictures. My brother kind of communicated with a goat. He spoke in goat language and the goat replied it. At 3 PM we went back to the hotel and took a rest.

On the forth day we went to the foot of Rinjani Mountain. We went around the village. There was a hill in there and we went to the top of it. There, we could see the entire of the village. There were so many monkey, but they were tame. They didn’t stole our bag or anything. After that we went to Tiu Kelep Waterfall. Tiu Kelep Waterfall placed in Senaru, Bayan, Lombok Utara. We should walk first to reach the waterfall. The trekking time for non-trekkers like us took more than an hour as we were slow. The waterfall was beautiful. We played below it. the water was fresh and cool. The scenery was great. After two hours, we walked back. On the way back we passed through the water tunnel. It was a shortcut way.

The last day in Lombok, we just played around the hotel. We went to Mataram Mall. At 10.30 AM we went to the Lombok International Airport. Our plane took off at 11 AM. Before that we said goodbye to my first brother. He will back to Sumbawa. I was so sad because I just met him for five days after one year and now we had to leave. We arrived at 1 PM in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. We took a travel to Bandung and arrived in Bandung at 8 PM.

I had so much fun in this vacation. The clean air of Lombok nature and beautiful scenery made me comfortable to stay longer there. It made me and my family relaxed from their work and build up our relationship. It was an unforgettable vacation and the most fun vacation for me. The experience was exhausting for us. But we still enjoyed it.

Marie Curie the Scientist

Do you know what is the meaning of the word above? Yes! The meaning of that word is hello, from Polish. I wrote that word because now I want to tell you about the female scientist from Poland – Marie Curie.
Marie Curie

Marie Curie was a Polish scientist who won a Nobel prize in both Chemistry and Physics. She was the first female professor of the University of Paris, and made ground-breaking work in the field of Radioactivity.

Maria Salomea Sklodowska was born in Warsaw, Poland on November 7, 1867. Marie Curie’s mother and father – Bronislawa and Wladyslaw – were both teachers and encouraged her interest in science.

When Marie was aged 10, her mother died and she started attending a boarding school. She then moved to a gymnasium – a selective school for children who were strong academically. Aged 15, Marie graduated from her high school with a gold medal as top student and a burning interest in science. Curie completed her master's degree in physics in 1893 and earned another degree in mathematics the following year.

It was in Paris, that she met Pierre Curie, who was then chief of the laboratory at the school of Physics and Chemistry. They became a scientific dynamic duo and married on July 26, 1895.

Marie became fascinated by rays that were recently discovered by scientists Wilhelm Roentgen and Henri Becquerel. Roentgen discovered X-rays and Becquerel had found rays given off by an element called uranium. Marie began to do experiments.

Marie and her husband spent many hours in the science lab investigating pitchblende and the new element. They eventually figured out that there were two new elements in pitchblende. They had discovered two new elements for the periodic table.

Marie named one of the elements polonium after her homeland Poland. She named the other radium, because it gave off such strong rays. The Curies came up with the term "radioactivity" to describe elements that emitted strong rays.

1903, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Marie and Pierre Curie for their work in radiation. Marie became the first woman to be awarded the prize. In 1911 Marie won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering the two elements, polonium and radium. She was the first person to be awarded two Nobel Prizes. Marie became very famous. Scientists came from around the world to study radioactivity with Marie. Soon doctors found that radiology could help with curing cancer.

Marie Curie died aged 66 on July 4, 1934, killed by aplastic anemia, a disease of the bone marrow. It is likely that the radioactivity she had been exposed to during her career caused the disease.

That’s All about Marie Curie. I hope this article helpful enough. Thank you for reading my article.

Little Red Riding Hood

Night all!

For this assignment, I and my teammate – Nuke and Rafa, played a role of a Little Red Riding Hood story. Little Red Riding Hood  also known as Little Red Cap or simply "Red Riding Hood", is a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. This sotry is very popular among the children and even adults. the story is very entertaining, so here is the short storu of Little Red Riding Hood :

One day, Little Red Riding Hood’s mother said to her,
“Take this basket of goodies to your grandma’s cottage, but don’t talk to strangers on the way!”
Promising not to, Little Red Riding Hood skipped off. On her way she met the Big Bad Wolf who asked,
“Where are you going, little girl?”
“To my grandma’s, Mr. Wolf!” Big Bad Wolf then ran to her grandmother’s cottage much before Little Red Riding Hood, and knocked on the door. When Grandma opened the door, he locked her up in the cupboard. The wicked wolf then wore Grandma’s clothes and lay on her bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood.
When Little Red Riding Hood reached the cottage, she entered and went to Grandma’s bedside.
“My! What big eyes you have, Grandma!”
“All the better to see you with, my dear!” replied the wolf.
“My! What big ears you have, Grandma!” said Little Red Riding Hood.
“All the better to hear you with, my dear!” said the wolf.
“What big teeth you have, Grandma!” said Little Red Riding Hood.
“All the better to eat you with!”

Little Red Riding Hood screamed and the woodcutters in the forest came running to the cottage. They beat the Big Bad Wolf and rescued Grandma from the cupboard. Grandma hugged Little Red Riding Hood with joy. The Big Bad Wolf ran away never to be seen again. After that, Little Red Riding Hood had learnt her lesson and never spoke to strangers ever again.

I got this short stories from We decided this story because this is a simple, interesting, and have moral in it.
                Enough for today, thank you!
